Diabetes

Diabetes presentation -- Introduction to different types of diabetes and their inheritance patterns.  Includes case scenarios designed to promote critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Provides practice in recognizing inheritance patterns and why different individuals/families may require different counseling about diabetes risks and dietary interventions.

Distinguishing different types of diabetes in children and young adults -- Although type 1 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes in children, it is becoming more common to see children, adolescents, and young adults with type 2 diabetes.
